Hasherific! Brad and Cum Silent led us from East Boulder Rec to and across the southernly footbridge across Foothills, then on a romp around the "Indian" neighborhood, leading us across Arleigh Burke park with countbacks around the lake. Then they took us across Baseline toward Aurora on Inca. Nat and I shortcut directly to the bike path behind the new yellow apartments on Colorado sort of in the direction of Potts Field. We successfully vaulted ourselves to the front of the pack, though when I wandered into the apartment complex sniffing powder, found none, and returned, I noticed that the pack had been through in the meantime, putting me back at the tail end. I walk/ran north past Potts Field, walked mostly due to some bowel distress, then followed the Boulder Creek Trail east to its crossing of Arapahoe, where Ratchett took a long drink from the creek. The trail led from there past Jose Muldoon's, through an office park, and back under Foothills on the wrong side of the river, across some train tracks and finally deposited us in a riparian blowdown just on the north side of the river. I finished in the middle of the pack, which was important to me. Joe and his friend Gabe (who was the first person in BFHHH history to be named and shall hence forth be called "Foaming at the Mouth") arrived almost an hour later. We sang to the virgins, we sang for headgear violations, we criticized the trail, we made fun of Nicole, then we went to Casa Alvarez for eats. This time, I don't think we're going to wait a year until the next hash. The Jhavelinas are compiling a hymnal for us, and we shall hold a hash to celebrate its arrival. Brad and I are now qualified hares, and I expect Sleeper and Ethan Gutmann will be stalwart down-down activists. If you have any trail ideas, we should get together and discuss them. We should be ready to put together an event on some unexpectedly sunny and snowfree Saturday in the next month or two. -Tyson PS. Chris and Tripp, don't forget that hymnal.
