Hashers, For those of you who weren't there last Friday night, here's a recap. The pack gathered at a Louisville Elementary School at hash time. Costumes ranged from elaborate (Freudian's The Human "G" Gnome, Pukahontas' Pukahontas, Cummy's Gorbachev, Deep's Higgins) to token (Chacockua's daughter's doggie, Nuts' rad scientist) to missing (Half-Cock's "I had a costume but I left it at home"). After 30 minutes of whining about how lame the rest of the hash was, the hares were sent off to scrawl an anti-anthraxial chalk trail for the hapless hounds, who slowly picked their way along the twisting path in near darkness. The turn on chalks were particularly brutal, though each street crossing sent the pack wandering off trail. It was decided that this was more an issue of darkness than chalk over flour, and as twilight faded to night, the trail became easier to pick up. Daylight chalk may do the trick. The trail looped over toward Via Appia, by Two Holes' house and roommate, into open space, then back out to Via Appia, where a map devilishly concealed in plain view on a nearby fence directed the hounds up a low, long hill. A turn on chalk followed by a general downward-tending trail led into a somewhat mysterious ditch/bike path system, which stymied the pack first with a lack of marks, then a sort of aquaduct which appeared to be the site of a chalk-moster massacre. Bits of chalk were smeared everywhere, but no DPs were to be found. We found out later that this was Pukahontas' first attempt at laying a CB. The pack navigated this obstacle and looped back to the start to complete the A-A loop. Down-downs were conducted at Hash House II in Broomfield. Many songs were sung, and more beers were consumed than last time, which wasn't many. Presents were lavished upon the lucky hashers who showed up, and everyone who didn't were disparaged mercilessly. There were no virgins, and no namings to note. On-afters continued at Deep's place. Next hash will be a week from SATURDAY, hared by Cum Silent, who should be back from keeping our rural airports safe. Somehow, P2H4 (Pikes Peak) got onto our same Saturday schedule, despite my conscious efforts to avoid such conflicts. As we haven't had many P2H4 appearances at Flatlander events, and no confirmed Flatlander appearances at P2H4 events, I'm not overly concerned. We will be on a Saturday schedule until daylight savings in the Spring, unless someone feels the need to hare a Friday night hash. On-on, Deep
